Mangrove Sierpe

The Sierpe National Wetland is Costa Rica's largest wetland, formed by the Térraba and Sierpe rivers and covering more than 26,779 hectares. It is the second-largest wetland in Central America. This daytime adventure is ideal for observing species that are active during the day, including monkeys, birds, sloths and snakes, while discovering the secondary forest along the river.

Enjoy a family-friendly catamaran expedition through the mangroves. In accordance with Law 7600, no hiking is required, making the experience accessible to everyone. With a local bilingual guide and captain, spend approximately three hours on the river observing white-faced capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, boas, birds, turtles and other wildlife.
